Montana Parole Denials

This page is for Montana Parole Hearings and Denials.  Email us at montanainjustice.blog@gmail.com, and let us know what requirements the Parole Board is making your family and friends do to gain parole or why they were denied.

Here are a couple of examples of how we would like the emails to look like.

Example 1) My son, John Doe #(prison#), went to the Parole Board on 12/15/2013 and they said he had to complete Boot Camp, Connections, Pre-Release, and After Care.  Upon completion of all programs, he is to see the  board again to see if he is granted parole.  John has never been able to get into a pre-released and he owns his own house.  Mother, Jane Doe, Bozeman, MT

Example 2) My brother, Jack Doe #(prison#), has been trying to get into his required groups for 1 1/2 years.  1 month before he say the Parole Board, he finally got into the groups.  He was denied parole because he was not "group complete". - Sister, Janet Doe - Victor, MT

       4.  My friend Jamyme Berri, Glendive, was sentenced to prison w/o treatment needs by the Judge.  He was classified at Deerlodge with no treatment needs. My friend has had no institutional problems in prison and has a great work history with no problems with the guards. Jamie went in front of the Parole Board in 2013 and was given a 2 year denial. Told to drug treatment now !
                                   from :  Bozeman, Montana

      3.  My cousin D. Hernandez, Deerlodge, has completed all court-ordered treatment and groups with excellent reports. He has overall clear conduct, good job evaluations, no staff or inmate problems. He has had case manager/unit manager/ treatment counselor recommend him for community placement.  He went in front of the Parole Board and was denied parole for 5 years, because of the nature of crime and he would not admit to wrong doing on  false and inaccurate case from 2004 case. They used his juvenile record against him. ( he is 31 years old)
                               From Billings, Montana

     2.  Montana Regional Prison, Glendive     There was no active case manager after C. M. Tew quit for over 3 months. While there was no active case manager 2 middle aged/elderly inmates were denied parole for 5 years ! These two men never had institutional problems in 5-8 years plus.  Multiple people have stated under oath the State never does (5 year flops) this.  There are 3 known people at Glendive in one of the 3to 48 person pods that have been "flopped" for 5 years.!! How many else state wide ?

      1. Deerlodge,   Inmate, who does not want to be named (for fear of retaliation) was sentenced by Judge and required to do 3 anger management/ drug programs by the Court and Deerlodge. His Judge said he would be paroled at 25% of his time if he was 'treatment complete'. The inmate has successfully completed all 3, has clear conduct, and "outside the fence" job, great evaluations all by the guards and staff. When he went in front of the Parole Board he was "flopped"until 4 months of discharge( 2 years)and told to do all 3 programs again and to do the Sex Offender Treatment Program. He was never convicted of a Sex Offender Program crime. He will sit his whole time.

Please keep emails short.  Anything over 150 words may not be published or shortened by staff.  Also please put "Parole Denials" in the subject line, so it gets to the right person.
